Who we are
Julie Kaneshiro, LAc
was born in Hilo, went to college on the east coast, lived in Japan and then studied Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine in Portland Oregon before finally returning home in 2006 to her beloved community in Hilo, Hawaii. She helped run Kaiao Community Garden – one of only two community gardens on the island at the time. She led two innovative grant programs that empowered elementary school children, adults with disabilities, and at-risk high school students to grow and nurture their own gardens, cook nutritious food and help take care of themselves and their families body-mind-spirit. She loves offering community acupuncture because it makes the wonders of acupuncture accessible to all!
